The
Of The
Technique Presentation
CURSILLO – Saturday of The Weekend
Beginning
with Mass and Communion we are brought to realize the blessings of the
day. The talks of the day help the
candidate understand one’s spiritual and corporal, worldly, thoughts to be more
Christian.
The
entire day is a presentation of the life of grace and of true holiness,
building on the first day, yet on a different level. It goes to the next phase from the beauty of the
calling and the importance of a personal relationship with God as a Christian.
Patiently the talks explain the what, why and how it is done building on the
message of the first day. It explains what each person must do to form
themselves in the Christian Ideal - - to become more Christian. In the end it explains what each person must
do to become a leader for Christ.
The
talks of the second day have two characteristics:
·
Each talk tells the candidate what to do and how to do it. The talks on Study and Action clearly explain
that. As each talk comes to a close, the
candidate can be expected to see a responsibility that may not have come clear
before. The candidate can now begin to
realize how to accomplish that responsibility.
There is a tendency to just theorize the topics of the second day, say
“Action or Evangelization”, and how it
fits into Christian life, without giving a concrete explanation and how a
person goes about fulfilling them. However, the talks should not bog down in
details. The personal witness is
essential in order that the candidates can understand the “how to” of the message. Yet
it needs to have a reasonable balance
that makes the point clear but not overwhelming.
·
Each speaker needs to avoid trying to tell too much, by limiting the
talk to the fundamental message of the day.
This is especially important at the beginning of the day. The Cursillo does not include everything
which goes into being a Christian or a human person. But, the talk on “Leaders” explains what goes
into being a leader in a Christian community with a specific method. A particular kind of action and a particular
kind of leadership are intended to be explained in the talks.
The talks on the second day have a definite style. Mainly they indirectly explain the Cursillo method. They should urge the cursillista to do things that have not been considered nor done. The talks should be somewhat restrained. They should motivate the cursillistas by showing them the value of these things for their own lives and the lives of others. The talks show what kind of an effect these things can have. Examples should be primarily explanatory showing how the method works.
Although there ia a tendency to make “Action or Evangelization” the most inspiring talk of the day, it is not intended to be. The inspiring talk of the day should be “Leaders”, in which the whole of the day is summed up in a moving way. As the last talk of the day it should differ in style from those preceding it. Without neglecting explanation in stressing the idea of hard work, it is intended to inspire people and stress what people can do who are forming themselves according to the methods given during the day. “Leaders should present the picture of the person who is putting all into being a Christian and should reveal the success such a person can have.
The second day focus is primaily individual and personal. All the talks and examples should focus on the individual christian and his or her relationship with Christ and other individuals. The development of how to live for Christ in an environment or how to live for Him in a community comes on the third day.
